We're pleased to announce that Community School of the Arts has been nominated by the Tennessee Arts Commission, the East Tennessee Foundation, and the Arts & Culture Alliance for the 2012 National Arts and Humanities Youth Program Awards!
Formerly known as the Coming Up Taller Awards, this honor is the nation’s highest for, per the website, “out-of-school arts and humanities programs that celebrate the creativity of America's young people, particularly those from under-served communities. This award recognizes and supports excellence in programs that open new pathways to learning, self-discovery, and achievement.”
In 2010, CSA was a finalist out of more than 350 nominations across the globe. So close! We truly feel 2012 is our year, so keep your fingers crossed that we become one of this year’s winners of a $10,000 grant and a trip to the White House. Plus, we’d be the first-ever winner from Tennessee.
