Support comes in all shapes and sizes, and we appreciate every dollar and every gesture.
The cost of a full scholarship to support unlimited lessons and classes for one student for one school year is $1,000. But your gift in any amount can have a profound impact on the life of a child. In the 20 years of our existence, our programs and teachers have influenced the development of hundreds of inner-city and rural-area youngsters, often determining their future careers.
Instructor Carol Zinavage and star pupil Shante Clark/Senior Recital 2010
Take Shante. She spent her childhood in State’s custody, shuffled in and out of foster homes with little or nothing to call her own – nothing except her love of music. Thanks to the dedication and commitment of teachers and staff, Shante’s musical training at the Community School of the Arts became mandated by Family Court: whether in a foster home or a group home, Shante’s guardian was required to get her to the School for her weekly lessons and classes. And now, Shante is a freshman at Lee University as a music major, planning to become a high school choral teacher.
We pride ourselves on two things: we get results, and we operate within our means, even in unsure times. Young people like Shante, Charles Myers, and the others you see here have futures because of the Community School of the Arts. And your gift in any amount makes a huge difference toward our continued success.
